NEWCOMERS

Come as you are

If you are unsure of what to expect when attending our church and services, just know that we want you to be comfortable, so come as you are! But of course, it’s completely normal for new members to have more questions.

Here you will find helpful information so that you’re comfortable when you come.

CAISTOR CENTRE

About our location

We are small but mighty!

Our church, while appearing small on the outside, has a lot to offer! We are wheelchair accessible and have lots of parking available for our visitors. You will also notice that there is a ton of outdoor space that we use for activities and outdoor gatherings during the warmer months.

Our indoor space has lots of windows, and the space is bright, warm, and welcoming. To some people’s surprise, you don’t travel back in time when attending our country church! Our sound system is well utilized for our services.

QUESTIONS & ANSWERS

What you can expect

What Do I Wear?

Be comfortable! When you attend, you will see all types of styles - from jeans and khakis to suits and dresses. We don’t have a specific dress code in place, so we encourage you to arrive in what makes you feel best.

How Long Are Your Church Services?

Expect our services to be between 60-75 minutes. Afterwards, there is coffee and snacks available (and something is always provided for the kids!) in a social time that we have to connect and catch up after service.

What Time Does Church Start - And When Should I Arrive?

Our services start at 10:30 am, and you can come as early as you wish, but arriving about ten minutes before is plenty of time.

Is There Something For My Kids To Do?

Yes! During each service, we have what we call “Jr. Church” that kids can attend separately while the sermon is taking place. Right now we have Jr. Church on all but the first Sunday of each month. The first Sunday we call Family Sunday, when the children stay with the grown ups for the service.

CHURCH FOR OUR KIDS

Kids & Jr. Church

Keeping our kids active and involved

Normally, Jr. Church (Sunday School) consists of one group of kids with a big age range (usually from kindergarten to grade eight) that go downstairs with their teacher to have a lesson. The lessons are lively and involve all kinds of methods of teaching - be it music, dance, drama, games or prayer - it depends on the day! The lessons will differ depending on the teacher volunteering that day, but the curriculum is mixed with hands-on learning along with listening activities.

Jr. Church happens on all but the first Sunday of each month, when the children stay upstairs for the service.

We are a Plan to Protect (P2P) congregation which means we follow steps (interviews, police checks etc.) to keep our children, youth and volunteers safe.

Fourth Fridays

We meet on the fourth Friday of the month around 6:15 pm, and this time is all about connecting with each other. We have interactive lessons, including workout games and activities that involve asking questions and discussing answers with the teacher.

During this time, we also celebrate birthdays. We take the time to get to know our kids who are part of the church family and celebrate who they are, along with their faith.

The session lasts about an hour, wrapping up around 7:15 pm with prayer time. Kids of all ages attend Fourth Friday, and overall, it’s a special time that we’ve created that brings the youth of our church closer together!

If you want your child to partake in Fourth Friday, you can inquire with us by submitting the form below. Children do not have to attend church on Sundays in order to attend Fourth Friday meetings, nor do they have to be part of the kid’s ministry. All are welcome to either or both!
